Ok, so we’re not doomed …

My apologies for my last post. I know better than to post anything when I’m having a bad day, as it always always ALWAYS creeps into the tone of my post. Shame on me. ^_^
While my initial worry was that Aion going free-to-play would drive friends away, I’ve come to the realization that there are many who will be coming back because of it. Definitely good news for my current server, Zikel, which seemed like a ghost town when I first re-rolled a few months ago. In fact, last night one of the guys from my dreg static said that the beginner area was crowded and that it was the first time in a very long time that he had lag while being in that zone.
Imagine that … lag! In Ishlagen! :D
I’m hoping for a great population boost, and know there will be bigger and better things coming our way. In fact, NCsoft has prepared a few in-game goodies in preparation of the upcoming event. Monday started the Rally the Troops event:
Aion is rallying the troops! All accounts in good standing have been reactivated* for free for 14 days. Reunite with old friends while making new ones during the two-week reactivation period!
You’ll also enjoy weekends of boosted settings, including double XP, a 30% Abyss Point bonus, and a 30% Crucible boost. And if you resubscribe before the reactivation ends, you get a free level 50 Daevanion armor set!
*For your account to be reactivated, your account must be in good standing (not currently banned), you must have applied a retail serial code to your account.
Nobody added a few updates to this announcement via the AionSource forums, noting that this event includes:
- Get more relics and medals! Fortress loot drops are increased.
- Extended free trial: The free trial level cap will be increased to level 40.
He went on to explain this for the free Daevic armor set:
When the reactivation period ends, all paid subscribers get a full level 50 Daevic armor set This will be applied as a code on your NCsoft master account and so you can choose which character gets the set.
Please note that the armor set will not include the title or weapon.
They will use your highest level character somehow to determine what type of armor you get (chain, plate, cloth, leather). Customer service will exchange the armor type if you want to give it to a different character than they mark on the account.
Harley’s already finished her Fenris of course, so I’m tempted to give the free set to MistahJay. I know I want him to have the Fenris armor set, but am not sure yet if I’m going to go through everything for the title and weapon yet. I think I’d rather he finish out his PVP set and get a PVP weapon instead … but, we’ll see. I have plenty of time before he hits 50 to decide. ^_^
